STUDENT ART CONTEST
Inspiring students to create beyond all boundaries
Dr. Nivia Zavala and Ana Soto 2027 Student Art Contest
pioneering bilingual educator, academic researcher, and advocate for exceptional learners widely recognized for her contributions to the New York State Association for Bilingual Education (NYSABE).
Ana Soto was an artist born in Argentina and recognized internationally for her pictorial work. She demonstrated high artistic impressionist and expressionist techniques, especially in the use of pastels and mixed techniques in landscapes, portraits, and figures. She achieved international recognition by having her work exhibited in museums in her native Argentina, across Europe, the Far East, Latin America, and the United States, and was widely recognized for her commitment to multicultural, multilingual education.
With Ana and Nivia’s dedication to multicultural education and the creativity within students, NYSABE’s 2027 Student Art Contest stands in their name, to support multilingual learners with disabilities; bringing their abilities, passion, and inspiration to light, and providing grounds to take pride in their culture and individuality through art.
