Dr. Lucia Buttaro
Dr. Lucia Buttaro, of Brooklyn, New York, passed away on May 13, 2025. She was the beloved daughter of María and the late Giuseppe Buttaro, and the cherished sister of Joann and Victor Buttaro.

She taught in various schools, colleges, and universities, always with the mission of inspiring and preparing future teachers for their own journeys in the classroom. Her impact on education will be felt for generations.
An avid traveler, Lucia embraced the world with open arms, exploring its many wonders and cultures. In every photograph, her radiant, joyful smile lit up the frame — a true reflection of her warm and vibrant spirit.
Yellow was Lucia’s favorite color, and it perfectly captured her essence: bright, uplifting, and full of life. Whenever you see the color yellow, may it bring to mind her beautiful soul and the joy she brought to those around her.
